Own the Rarest Coin of the Series
The $2½ Liberty Gold Piece

The Liberty Gold Coin series offers rare coin collectors a fascinating glimpse of 19th Century American History! The $2½ Liberty gold coins had limited mintages and were used primarily as circulating coinage.

A Rare Mintage - Due to their low mintages, the number of surviving $2½ Liberty gold coins are far less than their workhorse $20 Liberty counterparts. Bigger coins were used in international trade and minted by the millions where the $2½ enjoyed mintages.

The $2½ Liberty was minted at five U.S. Mints including the Southern Branch Mints. Dahlonega and Charlotte. Minting was halted in 1861 when these mints fell into the hands of the Southern Confederacy.

Low Circulation Liberty Coins - After 1879, all Coronet coins were issued from Philadelphia but relatively few were circulated. Most were stored in banks and the Treasury and later melted down when gold was recalled in 1933. We specialize in New Orleans examples and feel this series is very under-priced in today's market.
