Indian Gold Set 1907 -1933

The two largest coins in the Indian series are magnificent designs by America’s most famous sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The large, nearly one ounce, $20 Saint is the most beautiful U.S. coin ever minted. Today, it’s the most popular and widely collected of all American gold coins.

The smaller coins in the series bear the "Indian Head" design introduced in 1907. For rarity and unusual designs, the $5 and $2 1/2 Indians are clearly the most distinctive coins in the series. The designs are "sunken" into the gold and not raised like those on all other U.S. coins.
