Classic $10 Liberty Head Gold Coins
The $10 Liberty Head is one of the most popular and affordable of all U.S. Gold Coins. First minted in 1838, the $10 series of Liberty gold was inspired by Christian Gobrecht's design from a portrait of Venus.
Because each coin contains nearly a half-ounce of pure gold, the most popular dates in the series typically increase in value quickly in response to rising gold prices. While we carry a selection of rarer dates grades you can see below, many collectors like to put away the less expensive, popular dates ranging from 1890 to 1907.
Fine Details of Miss Liberty
The bust of Liberty is accented by her hair pulled into a knot and fine curls dangling down her neck. She wears a coronet proclaiming "Liberty" while the thirteen stars for the thirteen colonies surround the coin's design.
Spread Eagle
The reverse of the $10 Liberty is a heraldic eagle surrounded by the words "United States of America," the denomination "Ten D" at the bottom and the "In God We Trust" was added in all coins minted after 1866.
Minted at Select Facilities
These classic rare coins were minted in Philadelphia every year of the series. Rarer mintages come from the New Orleans Mint and were struck before the Civil War from 1841 through 1860.
