Peace Silver Dollars 1921-1935

Minted to Celebrate Peace After World War I

Peace Silver Dollars were first struck as a symbol of America's desire for worldwide peace after "the war to end all wars."

Anthony De Francisci designed this coin which bears his monogram under the neck of Liberty. Peace Silver Dollars were Silver Coins struck intermittently from 1921 to 1935 for a total of only ten years and in limited mintages.

Struck at the US Mints in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver, the total mintage of the Silver Peace Dollar is only a fraction of the better-known Silver Coins, the Morgan Silver Dollars. Each Peace Silver Dollar is about one and a half inches in diameter. By law, each coin contains .7734 troy oz. of pure Silver.
