The U.S. Branch Mint in Carson City, Nevada and its “CC” mint-mark remain famous and popular to this day despite closing its doors in 1893. Many enthusiasts and investors aim to build a complete 13-coin Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar Set celebrating the historic Old West Mint.
That enthusiasm extends to the modern versions of the 2021 Morgan Silver Dollars. With the Carson City facility no longer in operation, the Philadelphia Mint took over minting responsibilities of these big, beautiful coins made in .858-oz. of .999-fine silver and added the famous “CC” initials commemorating the original mint.
Only 175,000 of the 2021-CC Morgan Silver dollars were struck. Only a fraction of those will qualify as perfect MS-70 quality as graded by PCGS. Discounts available for boxes of 20.
