$5 Gold Coins

The first $5 gold coins, also referred to as “Half-Eagles”, were struck in 1839. There are two main series of $5 gold coins. The first is the Liberty Head Series, struck from 1839-1908. The second series, called the $5 Indians, were issued from 1908 until 1929 and issued with a unique “incuse” design with the details carved into the surfaces of the coin. Containing just under an ounce (.2418 ounces) of pure gold, these coins are highly popular with collectors and investors today. All coins listed in this section have been graded and certified by PCGS or NGC, the top two grading services in the business. Questions? Just give us a call and we will be happy to help.
