1754 Peru 8 Reales MS-62

Struck in Peru from 1751-1772, these large and impressive silver coins were actually legal tender in the United States until 1857. In fact, the US Dollar is based on the size and metal standard found in the silver 8 Real coin. Furthermore, the design on the front of the coin is the origin for the Dollar Symbol that we use today.

Under 50 coins total have been certified for this date with only six known finer than the MS62 example shown here. If you’re looking for a higher or lower graded example, we have a few—give us a call for availability. Highly recommended and supplies are very limited.
