1798 Order of Malta 30 Tari Ferdinand Hompesch Silver NGC MS-64 Reverse in Holder

This 1798 Order of Malta 30 Tari represents the final silver coinage issued under Grand Master Ferdinand von Hompesch zu Bolheim during the waning days of the Knights' rule over Malta. Struck in the tumultuous year before Napoleon's conquest of the island, this coin stands as a numismatic testament to the end of over two centuries of the Order's sovereignty in Malta.

The obverse features a finely detailed bust of Grand Master Hompesch facing right, with the legend F. FERDINANDVS HOMPESC. M. M. The reverse displays the crowned arms of the Order of Malta with the Maltese cross prominently featured, surrounded by decorative palm branches and the date 1798 split across the upper portion of the design.

This example has been certified MS-64 by NGC, exhibiting strong definition in the portrait details and heraldic elements with attractive original surfaces. The 30 Tari denomination represents one of the higher value silver issues of the Order and is highly sought after by collectors of European and Mediterranean numismatics.
