We feel that mint condition, Pre Civil War New Orleans Mint gold is undervalued in the current marketplace, and that includes this Mint State 60 first year of issue Quarter Eagle. It has a low mintage of 35K coins and today only 200 are known in all grades combined. The issue is known to be very softly struck in the centers, as you can clearly see on this example.
