1845-D | $5 Liberty Gold Head | PCGS | MS-61

Introducing the 1845-D $5 Liberty Gold Coin, a remarkable piece of American numismatic history. Minted at the Dahlonega Mint in Georgia, the "D" on the coin stands for "Dahlonega." This coin, certified by PCGS in Mint State 61, is available for purchase at Austin Rare Coins & Bullion.

These are incredibly hard to find in mint condition. Most Pre-Civil War branch mint gold has been cleaned or is damaged in some way. This one has fully original, dark orange surfaces with an incredible strike. The mintage was roughly 90K and today around 500 have been cerified in all grades.  This is one of 23 in the grade with just 15 finer, making it one of the finest examples available on the market today.  Most coins like this are tightly held and seldom seen.

The Dahlonega Mint played a significant role in the Gold Rush of the 1830s, and its legacy is captured in this coin. On the obverse, you'll find Lady Liberty, a symbol of freedom and opportunity. The reverse features a heraldic eagle, a representation of American strength and pride. This coin, in Mint State 61 condition, is not just a piece of American history; it's a tangible connection to a time when fortunes were made and dreams were pursued.

Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of the Dahlonega Mint's heritage. Add this splendid coin to your collection and relish the rich history it represents.

The coin shown is the exact coin you will receive.
