1882-CC Morgan Silver Dollar NGC MS-66

The Carson City Mint holds a special place in American numismatic history, and the 1882-CC Morgan Dollar is one of the more desirable issues from that legendary Nevada facility. Carson City dollars carry an undeniable frontier mystique, struck at a mint that operated for just a few decades before closing in 1893. The 1882-CC had a mintage of roughly 1.1 million coins, making survivors in high grade genuinely scarce.
George T. Morgan's portrait of Liberty faces left on the obverse, crowned with wheat and cotton blossoms and encircled by thirteen stars and the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The strike is bold and well-defined, with the hair above Liberty's ear showing strong detail. The reverse presents a heraldic eagle with wings spread, clutching arrows and an olive branch, framed by a laurel wreath and the CC mint mark positioned beneath ONE DOLLAR.
NGC has certified this example MS-66, a gem grade that reflects virtually no contact marks and outstanding luster. The surfaces display bright, satiny cartwheel luster with minimal distractions. Carson City Morgans at this grade level are seldom offered, making this an appealing choice for collectors pursuing the series by date and mint. The coin pictured is the exact coin you will receive.
