Austin Rare Coins has acquired a small quantity of the much sought-after Gold Double Sovereigns from the 70th Year Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II as Monarch. Although struck in 2022 for the 70th Anniversary as Monarch (Platinum Jubilee) celebration, these Gold Sovereigns also commemorate the year of her passing--adding greatly to their desirability to collectors across the globe.
These large gold coins weight just under a half-ounce of gold (.4708 oz) and are struck in beautiful 22-kt gold. The obverse features the elder portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the reverse shows the UK Royal Coat of Arms. The shield is held majestically by the Guardian Lion of England on the left, with the Scottish Unicorn on the right. Above the Coat of Arms is the Royal Crown.
