Although struck in 2022 for the 70th Anniversary (Platinum Jubilee) Celebration, these Gold Sovereigns now also commemorate the year of Her Majesty’s passing--adding greatly to their desirability to collectors across the globe.
These beautifully-made gold coins weight just under a quarter-ounce of gold (.2354 oz) and are struck in gorgeous 22-kt gold. The obverse features the elder portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the reverse shows the UK Royal Coat of Arms. The shield is held majestically by the Guardian Lion of England on the left, with the Scottish Unicorn on the right. Above the Coat of Arms is the Royal Crown.
