The Flowing Hair Liberty portrait that opened American coinage in 1794 returns on this 2026 silver medal, issued for the nation's 250th anniversary. The United States Mint struck it in .999 fine silver, and NGC sealed it as an Early Releases piece from the first weeks of availability. A 250th anniversary comes once, so the 2026 America 250 issues form a closed group that collectors are already assembling. The holder also carries the Best of the Mint 2026 label, a designation followed closely by collectors of modern Mint products.

Liberty faces left on the obverse with her hair streaming behind her, while LIBERTY arcs above and stars ring the border with the date 2026 below. The portrait stands in sharp relief, and the engraving keeps fine separation in every strand of hair and in the ribbon at her shoulder. On the reverse, an eagle glides with wings fully spread above a cloud-wrapped globe, with the sun rising behind it and long rays reaching to the rim. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA curves around the upper edge, and the designer initials JVN appear on both sides.

NGC graded this medal SP-69, one point from the top of the Specimen scale. The surfaces are bright and even, with strong device definition across the high points of Liberty's hair and the eagle's wings, and no distractions reach the open fields. Quality at this level matters most on modern Mint issues, where grading standards are strict and small handling marks separate one grade from the next. The Early Releases notation adds a timing distinction that cannot be earned later. A welcome addition to any collection of United States Mint medals and America 250 anniversary issues.
