C. Porcius Cato Denarius Extremely Fine

This is not a commonly encountered Roman denarius, in fact, this is the first of its type that we have handled. The overall strike and color make for a wonderful example of Roman coinage dating back around 2,000 years. Cato was an influential conservative Roman senator during the late Republic whose conservative principles were focused on the preservation of what he saw as old Roman values in decline. Highly recommended and quite rare in such a high grade.
