Right now premiums on certified Pre-1933 gold are the lowest we've seen them in many, many years.
We just acquired a nice group of $20 Double Eagles struck in 1903 that are certified in Mint State 63 and 64 condition. The best part is, we're offering them for the same prices as a common date coin.
When you take a close look at the numbers, you'll see why we're recommending them. We only have 15 examples of each grade, so if you're looking for an outstanding deal, don't wait too long or they'll be gone.
Here is what you need to know:
- Mintage on 1903 $20 Liberty was only 287,270 coins. Mintage on a common date, 1904 was 6.25 million.
- PCGS and NGC combined have graded only 8,032 in MS63 and 6,353 graded in MS-64. Compare this to the 1904 which has 136,000 graded in 63 and 70,225 in MS-64!
In essence, the 1903 Double Eagle is 17 times more rare in MS-63 and 11 times more rare in MS-64 than the common date 1904 issue. While you would expect the 1903 to trade at a substantial premium given these numbers, we're offering them today for the same price as a 1904. Prices are as follows, and all coins are certified by either NGC or PCGS:
We will offer a 3% discount for checks/wires.
Remember, these coins contain just under an ounce of pure gold and are certified in Mint State 63 or 64 condition. We believe this is an anomaly in the current marketplace that shouldn't be overlooked.
