Silver has also performed exceptionally well. Many of you will recall that we shared our view that once silver broke above $50 per ounce, a fast move toward $60 was very possible. We are now seeing that unfold, with silver currently hovering near $57 and exhibiting the type of momentum that often precedes further strength.
With these price moves, we have noticed an important trend. Many of our long-time clients are selling into strength, locking in gains after years of patience and disciplined accumulation. The broader market is seeing this as well, and some of this selling pressure has resulted in historically low premiums in certain areas. From a macro perspective, all eyes are now on the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for December 10th. With inflation remaining stubborn and the job market showing signs of softening, the Fed once again finds itself under pressure to consider further easing. After September’s rate cut, many analysts believe another adjustment is possible, and any move in that direction would have meaningful implications for precious metals, as lower rates traditionally support higher gold and silver prices.
At the same time, speculative assets such as cryptocurrencies have slumped over the past two month, prompting a noticeable shift in investor behavior.
