Must-See Gold Recommendation for $569

Gold is up over 17 percent this year, its strongest start since 1974. When rapid moves like this happen there always seem to be a few areas of the market that get left behind. Five weeks ago we suggested acquiring certified $5 Liberties in Mint-State 64 for $689 each and since then they've risen over 20% to $835 per coin while gold bullion fell $10 an ounce during the same time frame.

The reason the MS-64 $5 Libs shot up is that they became severely oversold when gold was falling and they were overlooked when gold rallied. Their strong move higher explains why we continue to recommend this area of the gold market and it shows why you should acquire investment grade Pre-1933 gold, particularly when the timing is right.

When we saw how quickly the MS-64 $5 Libs moved higher, we decided to take a position in Mint State 63 $5 Liberties. We noticed that they, too had become oversold and given their rarity, quality and price-point they seemed to make a lot of sense.  Most importantly, we noticed that there aren't many extra coins available in the wholesale marketplace. So, over the past few weeks we accumulated around 200 of them and we're offering them today because we think they will follow their MS-64 counterparts higher. Here's why:

 

• Genuine Scarcity: Although 51 million of them were struck from 1866-1908, under 58,000 (1.1 percent ) have attained the investment-grade level of Mint State-63.
   
• Mispriced Compared to Other Grades: In MS-62, $5 Liberties trade for $450 each. In Mint State-64, the price jumps to $835, putting 63's in the sweet-spot.
   
• Lowest Price in Years:
  MS-63 $5 Libs peaked at over $1,300 each from 2006-2009. Today they are 1/3 of that price and they've never been less expensive.
   
• Tight Supplies: There are very few $5 Liberties in Mint-State 63 available at current levels so it won't take a lot of buying pressure to move bids higher.
