For the last few months, premiums on certified Pre-1933 gold have remained at the lowest levels we've seen them in many years. With a little bit of research you can acquire truly rare, low-mintage issues for astonishingly small amounts over their intrinsic gold value, as you can see below.
We just secured a nice group of $20 Double Eagles struck in 1901 and 1903 that are certified in choice uncirculated, Mint State 63 condition. The best part is we're able to offer them for little more than a common issue like the 1904 $20.
When you take a close look at the numbers, you'll see why we're recommending them. We only have 15 examples of each date, so don't wait too long or they'll be gone.
Here is what you need to know:
- The mintage on the 1901 $20 Liberty was only 111,430 coins, while the mintage on the 1903-S was just 954,000.
- PCGS and NGC combined have graded only 4,079 of the 1901's and only 2,999 of the 1903 San Francisco's in Mint State 63. Compare these numbers to the common-date 1904, which has 138,000 graded in Mint State 63!
In essence, the 1901 Double Eagle is
21 times more rare in MS-63 than the common date 1904 issue. The 1903-S, in comparison, is over
28 times rarer than the 1904! While you would expect them to trade at a substantial premium, we're offering them today for little more than a common date.
**We will offer a 3% discount for checks/wires.
Remember, these coins contain just under an ounce(.9675) of pure gold and are certified by PCGS or NGC in Mint State 63 condition. We believe this is an anomaly in the current
marketplace that shouldn't be overlooked.
Be sure to ask about other dates that fit this criteria when you call in.
