First Ever Silver Coinage in History!
Austin Rare Coins & Bullion is pleased to announce the release of a small group of silver half-staters issued in 561 B.C.- the FIRST silver coins issued in human history!
Normally we only have one of these amazing coins to offer at a time. However, we acquired a small hoard in Germany that contained ten coins in various grades and prices. Since we bought them all at once, we can offer them at our best prices ever. We seriously doubt we will ever be able to offer so many at once again.
Struck by King Croesus of Lydia nearly 2,600 years ago, each coin has been graded and certified by NGC Ancients. The obverse depicts an incredibly lifelike image of a lion and bull, thought to symbolize strength and virility, while the reverse of each coin has a double-incuse punch that occurred when the coin was struck so long ago. The details of these items are extraordinary given their age and crude method of manufacture.
In fact, they are so desirable and important that they're listed as #9 out of the Top 100 Greatest Ancient Coins book. As a bonus, we will include a copy of this book for free with each coin ordered.
We expect a rapid sellout so order early to avoid disappointment.
