At the ANA show in Colorado two weeks ago, we came across a really interesting deal of Type 2 Double Eagles struck in San Francisco in 1875 and 1876.

Like all Double Eagles, each coin contains just under an ounce (.9675) of pure gold. On top of that, these are the tougher-to-locate Type 2 design, which were minted only from 1866-1876, the shortest of the three different Double Eagles.

We loved the price and value on the coins themselves, but, along with the coins were authentic newspapers from around the San Fran area, from the same dates as the coins.
