$20 St. Gaudens MS-63 Quality
1907 ushered in a complete redesign of the U.S. $20 Gold Coin with the new, striking $20 St. Gaudens (named after designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens) replacing the classic $20 Liberty. The new coin was so popular that, decades later, it served as inspiration for today’s Gold Am. Eagles.
Their resemblance in both appearance and size ($20 St. Gaudens weigh nearly 1-oz.), leads many traditional bullion buyers to see Saints as “Gold Eagles from 100 years ago” and an ideal diversifier to gain Pre-1933 U.S. Gold advantages:
- Extra profit-potential due to their fixed and limited supply
- Increased privacy and safety from potential government action
- Decreased market volatility
“MS-63” indicates these $20 Saint-Gaudens have been graded and certified by NGC or PCGS (the two best grading companies) to be in the uncirculated/Mint State grade of 63 on the numerical grading scale in which MS-63 to MS-66 represents the “Investment-Grade” range.
All graded coins are sealed in the “slab” pictured here. This grade is ideal for buyers preferring “big coins at a good value” with the added muscle of Pre-1933 U.S. Gold.
