The $5 and $2 ½ Indian Head gold coins are considered two of the most beautiful and original portrayal of the American Indian ever employed on U.S. Coinage. They actually depict a real American Indian chief. All other “Indian” portraits are actually Lady Liberty with different head dresses on. Both Coins carry the distinction of being one of only two coin designs in American History to use an incuse design. The design features no raised edge, and the main devices and legends are in sunken relief below the surface of the coin.

$5 Indian Head Gold Coins were struck in Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver and San Francisco. Each coin contains .24187 ounces of pure gold, they will have a range of dates. There are a total of 24 coins in the program with a combined mintage of 14,078,066.

These coins have been slabbed and certified by PCGS/NGC in MS-64 condition and also come packaged in certified boxes of 20. If you're looking for a specific year or mint mark give us a call at 1-800-928-6468.
