2026 1/10-oz American Gold Eagle

The American Gold Eagle has been the official gold bullion coin of the United States since 1986, and the tenth-ounce format carries that same federal guarantee at the lowest entry point the U.S. Mint offers. Each 2026 coin holds exactly 1/10 troy oz of pure gold, struck in 22-karat metal at .9167 fine. The copper and silver in that alloy shrug off the small nicks that mar softer pure gold inside a tube. All are legal tender at five dollars face value. Orders ship in official Mint tubes of 50, with smaller quantities going out in individual flips.

Augustus Saint-Gaudens' Liberty strides out of a burst of sunrays on the obverse, a torch raised in one hand and an olive branch held out in the other. The relief runs high, so the folds of her gown pick up light as each coin turns. Behind her the Capitol dome sits low on the horizon, with the 2026 date set into the field at lower right. The reverse carries Justin Nugent's close portrait of a bald eagle, its feathers cut in fine detail beneath E PLURIBUS UNUM. A reeded edge finishes the rim.

Fractional gold gives a holder room to move that a full ounce does not. A tenth-ounce position can be trimmed a little at a time, so raising a small sum never means cashing out a larger coin. Recognition does the rest: any bullion dealer in the country will quote on these on sight, because the design and the federal backing need no authentication.
