Certified US Mint Silver Dollars

Certified Morgan Silver Dollar

Professional grading services strive to be completely objective when trying to grade coins. It is important to make sure that the grading service itself is reputable.  Austin Rare Coins & Bullion uses NRC and PCGS as our mian grading services because "THEY ARE THE MOST REPUTABLE GRADING SERVICES IN THE COIN INDUSTRY." We can trust that their grading will be authentic and at the levels required on the Sheldon Grading Scale.

(The Sheldon Grading Scale is a 70-point scale for grading coins, developed by Dr. William Sheldon in 1949. The Sheldon Scale is the standard for grading U.S. coins, and is used by the major third party grading services when assigning a grade to a coin.)

However, it is important to also understand that we at Austin Rare Coins & Bullion select coins based on their level of quality for the grade – in other words, we buy the coin, not the holder. This process builds a better collection by giving the one-on-one attention that we have developed over the years to find the best examples.  For example a certified coin in MS-64 might have greater eye appeal – and therefore be more desirable to a greater number of collectors – than a less attractive coin graded MS-65.

Scarcity also place a very important part when determining the price of a coin. Even though Morgan and Peace Dollars were originally produced in high numbers to create a reasonable supply, many were melted down, many had their silver content diluted in later year, and only a very few rarer years are in perfect mint condition. Rare Coins & Bullion has been a reputable & reliable coin dealer since 1986 that has strived to provide our customers first with great insight and peace of mind when investing in rare coins and bullion.  Talk to one of our Certified Coin Dealers to assist you with any question that you might have.
