1861-O $10 Liberty | NGC XF-40

Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1851-O $10 Liberty Gold Eagle is a prized survivor from one of the most challenging branch mints for U.S. gold production. The New Orleans Mint operated intermittently during the 19th century and produced a limited number of gold coins compared to Philadelphia. The obverse features Christian Gobrecht’s classic Liberty Head design, while the reverse bears the heraldic eagle and the coveted “O” mintmark, denoting its Southern origin.
